The future of your company is as important as the present. In fact, some would argue it is more important. You probably have a mission statement, but what is next? What are your long term goals? Careful planning now can put your organization on the right track for success in the coming years. And it is important to think about every step and ever puzzle piece that you have in place for now and the future.

Four Questions to Ask Yourself Regarding Your Company Vision

Are you living your mission statement?

Having a mission statement is a good start, but it isn’t the end of the task. Your mission statement describes your company’s core values, so it is important that you implement them for the future. Are you living your values every day? Are you presenting those values to your customers? To your employees?

Do you have the right people in the right places?

Speaking of employees, do you see everyone on your team as an integral part of your organization moving forward? Having the right people in the right roles is critical for the success of your company. Don’t just hire to do a task, hire for growth and development within your company.

What are you year-end goals?

5 years is a good start, but how do you see yourself performing by the end of the year. When you’re looking at your new goals each New Year, see what is realistic. Plan for those, but also have a stretch goal. Something that can really challenge everyone and that will be satisfying when accomplished.

How can you position yourself for the future?

These yearly goals will be a good step toward long-term growth. But also look at other aspects of your business that can help you be successful. Do you have the right processes in place? Do you have the right incentive programs to motivate your staff? Are you involved in the community and giving back?
