Are you preparing for another interview? Are you ready for this company to make you an offer? It can be frustrated to be out there on the job market. There are some things that can help you prepare for your next meeting and give your potential employer a better picture of you as an employee. What are some of the most common questions for interviews and how can you prepare the best answers? Here are the big three for you to prepare.

  1. What would you say is your biggest weakness? This best answer to this question has long been thought to be a strength made to look like a weakness. “I can be way too aggressive about sales.” However, experts are suggesting that this tactic has worn out its welcome and is now seen as disingenuous by most interviewers. There is no weakness in admitting a genuine weakness. Be honest but admit that you are working on improving these weaknesses.
  2. Tell me about a situation… Behavioral interviewing is a technique designed to find out how you think and react in certain situations. The idea is that you describe how you’ve handled a similar event in the past or, if you have not, how you expect that you would. Being unprepared for these questions can lead to a lack of confidence and stumbling over your words for an answer. If you are confident in your skills and experience there are very few of these types of questions that can shake you.
  3. Where do you see your career in 5 or 10 years? A company wants to know that you are not only looking for a job but that you want a career with their company. They want you to say that you will be a part of their organization and that you want to advance within their company. The best way to prepare for this question is to research everything you can about the company. Used LinkedIn to see how others in the organization have moved forward with their careers.
