We are halfway through 2015 so it is time to double down on the goals your team set at the beginning of the year. Not only should you encourage your staff to meet their goals but aim to shatter them altogether. There is nothing like the satisfaction of achieving a level above and beyond the original expectations set for yourself or by management.

Motivate Your Employees to Shatter 2015 Goals

Failure is not an option.

You want your employees to know that you have their back even if they make mistakes along the way. The fear of failure is only a problem if it stops people from achieving their goals. Let them know that failure is not an option and you want to do everything you can to help them succeed. This will give them just enough pressure to stay motivated but not enough to break under the stress.

Overachieve.

Never settle for your original goal. You want to give your staff an opportunity to go above and beyond. When they make a breakthrough, tell them to keep pushing. If they accomplish their established goals by September, don’t let them rest on their laurels, challenge them to make new goals that can help them enhance their career or productivity.

Be positive.

Very few people are motivated by fear and intimidation. Encourage your staff to meet their goals by setting positive benchmarks along the way. Provide constructive criticism when necessary but add positive feedback at any point that you can. This will help encourage them to keep going because they see that their contribution is valued.

Their success is a reflection of you.

You want your staff to succeed in their annual goals because it reflects positively on your company overall. Whether their goal is personal or professional or whether or not it has an impact on your bottom line or profits, you want to manage a team of winners and people who are willing to take risks in their careers.
